The Brampton Brewery in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, began in 1839 under Mary Smith, initially as Parkin and Co., before becoming Brampton Brewery in 1889 under Harold Soames. It grew in the 1890s, owning 142 pubs by 1897 and producing beers like Golden Bud, but a 1902 fire led to a new, electrically powered brewery in 1905 on Chatsworth Road. Acquired by Warwick and Richardson’s Brewery in 1955, it struggled and was demolished in 1984. Revived in 2007 as a microbrewery near the original site at Chatsworth Business Park, it now crafts award-winning ales like Brampton Best and operates three pubs.
